#359/365--Twelfth Day of Christmas

First,
...their Christmas...
We did our usual
Want, Need, Wear, Read
and
Stockings

...the stockings...

Lauren was
most excited
about
her new
flash drive

then
we did
"Sibling Gifts"
...which is sort of new...
considering
I used to be the one
to pick out the gifts
that they gave to
each other
but
this year
they took care of
that
...of course,
Lauren was the funny one
and wrapped Mikey's gift
in "Lauren" wrapping paper...

He got her the sweater she wanted
and
She got him an engraved pen

Their "WANT:"
She wanted a pull-over
and
He wanted a special training mask

While they opened their "NEED,"
they goofed off
with Michael's mask
(the need is, of course, socks
and underwear...
and winter wear)

The "Something to Wear"
Lauren = a new backpack
(what? you wear a backpack)
Michael = a sweater

The "READ:"
Lauren = Walt Whitman book of poems
Michael = The Eye of Minds

...and then...
it was my turn

What these two have done for me this Christmas
by
not only
reaching out to my family
and friends

to give me

little gifts
of
love
friendship
and
time

but
also
by working together
to get it all
accomplished
the organization
the handmade gifts
the thoughtfulness of it all
the love notes from my people
the love notes from them
there is no word
that encompasses
the emotion
I feel.
When I look back on
years past
and
everything

...good and bad...

that we've
struggled with
experienced
conquered
gained
learned
triumphed over

and

keeping in mind
that
we have many more
battles
and
victories
ahead of us

I find my peace
in knowing
that
through it all
...they got it...
They get it.

I'm so blessed
beyond
what I could have ever imagined
blessed to know
I have these babies of mine
blessed to know
I have my tribe of people
blessed to know
that my God
my Jesus
is
and
always will be
my
Provider
and
my Calm in the storm
He's been
my Anchor
my "Ever-present Help"
in my times of need
Merry Christmas
to my world
from
my world

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:11
