Tonight
...marks two anniversaries...
...this kid's birth...
...my 14 year old Christmas present...
(I don't have candles,
so he got to blow out a lighter)
and
also
...the night of our fire...
I have been
experiencing
moments of
anxiety
fear
...worry...
smelling charred-ness
and
smoke
...it has been a long year...
...but...
tonight
we took
frosted sugar cookies
to our
First-Responders
...and...
I cannot think
of a more appropriate way
for us
to have spent
this night.
The chances
were slim
that our
firemen
...were on duty...
but
as luck would have it
one of our guys was there
(far right)
(and another guy comes on in the morning)
It was sort of
therapeutic
...validating...
to be able to
relive those moments
with someone
who was there
and to be able to
say
Thank You.
