#166/365--Diagnosis

...continuation from post #164 & #165...
...so...
the OTC gas meds
that my PCP
"prescribed"
didn't work...

--and--

the muscle relaxer, heating pad, and essential oils
that
I
"prescribed"
didn't work...

I awoke
this morning
after being awake
yet again
most of the night
with
...severe...
...sharp...
...stabbing...
pain
in my lower right abdomen
I decided to go to the ER.
...where they...
...took blood...
and other stuff
...and...
did an
...ultrasound...

...final outcome...
a diagnosis
that
is
not
gas
but
"Mesenteric Adenitis"
...which, when googled...
...is explained as...
...so....
to my PCP
who ordered
me to take
"simethicone"
...thanks...
...for your deep concern...
I realize that
(Thank God)
this isn't anything serious
but
I was in pain
not just
GAS PAIN.
And I so much appreciate you
staying on top of it
and following thru
to an actual diagnosis.

No, really.
Thanks for blowing me off.
The ER doctor
was much more concerned.
He actually got more tests run
because he could tell that I was
...in fact...
in a lot of pain.

And...the ER doctor
...explained...
what was going on
inside of me.
...and what I should expect...
...over the next few days...
He didn't just stop
at a
"perfectly healthy"
CT scan.
Thank you, ER guy.
Sincerely.

#165/365--Not

...continuation of post #164...
...so...
the gas meds
did not work.
I spent all of Friday
in and out
of severe pain

(all the while,
being professionally developed
 in the area
of teaching Language Arts)

...and...
since my
CT
showed
a perfectly healthy me
I figured
that maybe I
pulled a muscle
when we were at
6 flags
...on Wednesday...
So,
I took a muscle relaxer
(prescription strength, for spasms)
...added a little essential oils...

...and slept with a heating pad...
...to be continued...

#164/365--FlabberGASted

...Wednesday...
...midnight...
I began
having severe pain
in
my lower right
abdomen.

The pain came and went.  When it was present, it was severe.  I could not move.  All I could do was grit my teeth and breathe slowly.  I googled a bunch of different things, trying to diagnose myself.  Probably something one should never do.  Finally, morning came and I was able to text some friends for their opinions.  The general consensus was that I needed to be, at the very least, seen by a doctor.  So, I went in.

After some very basic tests,
I was sent to
an imaging facility
where I had to drink
...something...
...and then...
have a
CT
done
with contrast
which
ended up
showing
how very healthy
my insides are

(besides a very normal kidney stone...in the left kidney...which I am quite used to)

My doctor said
she wanted me
to try some OTC
meds for
...gas...
GAS???
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
That's my diagnosis
after my 500$ copay/deductible??
I think I know gas...
...but...
...I'll try whatever...
...see future posts...
