Leaves
I thought about
how
the leaves
on the trees
haven't
succumbed
to Fall yet
and then
after
repairing
Lauren's
broken tail light
(yes, we did that...
we are women
hear us roar)
it occurred to me
that
"leaves"
could actually
mean
something
different
as in
...she leaves...
she left
she's headed back
to college
Today,
I am thankful
for
leaves on trees
and
the verb
"to leave"
because
leaving
means
she gets to come back
and
you don't
get the full
...effect...
of the joy
of the return
without
the pain of
the leaving
