all the discarded

that you don't
want to hold on to
or
put away yet
so
you just lay it down
"on the counter"
and
oddly
when you say
"it's on the counter"
they know
...exactly...
where you are talking about
but
when that counter is cleaned off
you just can't seem to
...find anything...
